Improving the Digital Customer Journey for a Restaurant

Guests meet your restaurant on a screen before they meet it at the door. The digital customer journey is simply the sequence of moments where they use a phone to decide, order, or comment. Looking at each moment shows where small fixes matter.

Map the journey

  1. Discover: a search, a friend’s message or a social post.
  2. Check: opening hours, location, photos, menu and reviews.
  3. Choose: what to eat, or whether to order ahead.
  4. Visit or order: the experience itself.
  5. Share: feedback, a review or a recommendation.

For each step, ask what a guest sees and what you would want them to see.

Fix the most common breaks

  • Out-of-date information. Wrong hours or an old menu will send guests away.
  • No menu online. Many people look before they go.
  • Hard-to-find links. Put your menu, ordering and review links where guests are already looking.
  • No way to say how it went. A simple QR at the end of the visit gives guests an easy way to speak up.

Keep it consistent

A guest should recognise the same restaurant on every screen: the same name, colours and tone. A branded menu and feedback page support the experience that your signage and staff already create.

Start with one improvement

Pick the step that is weakest today. If your menu is hard to find, start with a shareable menu link. If you never hear from guests, start with feedback.

Where repUP fits

Menus helps guests check and choose, Orders lets them order ahead, and Reviews helps them tell you and others how it went.
